Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij has emerged as a leading transfer target for compatriot Louis van Gaal atManchester United, with the Dutch manager also interested in landing teammate Felipe Anderson.
The former Feyenoord star worked together with van Gaal as part of the Netherlands national side and featured in all of their 2014 World Cup games in Brazil, and the United boss is eager to once again work with the defender.
The Metro reports that the Red Devils would like to seal a triple swoop this summer for De Vrij, Biancocelesti teammate Anderson and Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng in a bid become Premier League title contenders once again next season.
De Vrij’s outstanding performances caught the eye of many during 30 Serie A appearances last term, while he was also integral to the Aquile’s Coppa Italia run which eventually saw them end as runners-up to double winners Juventus.
Anderson also impressed for Lazio last term, scoring an impressive 11 goals in 37 matches in all competitions which has alerted the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
