United find surprise De Gea replacement in England

Fraser ForsterRumours are surfacing that Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United believe they have whittled their search for David de Gea’s replacement down to just one target, and he already plays his football in The Premier League.
With De Gea almost definitely moving to Real Madrid once the financial figures are met, van Gaal will attempt to prize England’s No 2 Goalkeeper, Fraser Forster away from Dutch managerial rival, Ronald Koeman.
The Southampton shot-stopper impressed in his first Premier League season after arriving from Celtic last summer where Forster was originally linked with a move to United in January 2013.
For United, Forster offers a potential long-term solution to replacing their outstanding player of the last two seasons with a semi-experienced goalkeeper whilst also increasing their ‘home-grown player’ quota in readiness for next season’s potential reduction in the rule (17 max down to 13 max).
Van Gaal Ronald KoemanThe giant 6’7″ Englishman made 37 League & Cup appearances last season gaining some impressive statistics not least his ability to keep a clean sheet. Keeping 15 clean sheets (13 PL/2 Cups) compared to De Gea’s record of 14 clean sheets (11 PL & 3 Cups) suggests the big 27yr old could fill De Gea’s boots quite comfortably if given the chance.
Koeman is believed to be against any such approach from United and more importantly van Gaal. But it’s also true to say United are aware Southampton have shown themselves to put a value on any of their players as was witnessed last summer in what looked like a fire-sale when a number of their top performers all moved-on in big money deals the club decided it could not turn down. If the same were true this time round it would only be a matter of United finding out that evaluation with a series of bids to capture their target.
