Manchester City to Bid £70m+ for Arsenal & Liverpool Duo

Manchester City are in the hunt for a couple of home-grown players this summer following the releases of Frank Lampard and James Milner at the end of this past season.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are not been linked to any ol’ players to make up the numbers in the squad either – this morning the Citizens are once again being linked to England duo Jack Wilshere and Raheem Sterling, according to reports.
Sterling is in the midst of interest from a number of top sides around Europe this summer, all able to offer him UEFA Champions League football and a potential payrise on his current Liverpool deal.
The 20-year-old has already stated that he has no desire to stay with the Reds and that he won’t be renewing his current deal at Anfield.
However, Sterling does still have two years remaining on his contract and his manager, Brendan Rodgers, insists the club will do all it can to keep of its young starlet.
Rodgers words may just be trying to get interested clubs to be an astronomical amount for the forward and it appears to be working as reports on Wednesday claimed Liverpool had rejected a staggering £40 million bid from Manchester City for Raheem Sterling.
The Mirror are now reporting that City will try their luck with a £30 million bid for England’s hero at the weekend, Jack Wilshere.
However, Wilshere has once again recently stated his intention to stay at the Emirates, playing for the club he supports.
Should City fail in their attempts to sign both players, Liverpool’s Glen Johnson is heading on a free transfer at the end of the month, he can contribute towards their home-grown quota…
