Manchester United have been told they will need to stump up at least £36m to land Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The Red Devils have been chasing the Argentine international since last summer and the Mestalla club reportedly knocked back a bid from Louis van Gaal for the 27-year-old in January.
And now, it is reported by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo that United are ready to re-enter the race to sign Otamendi this summer.
The defender's price tag could prove to be a stumbling block over a potential deal, although sources close to the former Porto star insist he is keen to test himself in the Premier League
