The Brazilian is set to cost £25 Million up front, with a further £4 Million in performance bonuses, making him their second most expensive signing behind Andy Carroll.
Firmino had been heavily linked with a Premier League move this season, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City all interested.
Liverpool have muscled their way in however, and will complete his arrival after the Copa America tournament in Chile, when he will fly to England for a medical.
Firmino scored Brazil’s second goal of their 2-1 win over Venezuela which secured their place in the knock-out stages, and will face Paraguay in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
The Verde-Amarela will have to continue their tournament without superstar captain Neymar, who picked up a four-match ban for headbutting a Chilean player in the group stages.
The Barcelona will no longer train with the squad, and has started his summer break early.
